December - Finished projects

Rather than do a review of the year, I'm just going to carry on as usual with my month review. I don't make resolutions or have aims for the year. I just like to go at my own pace :)
So here's the one project that I finished that isn't a Christmas present:

And, as promised, here's a round up of the Christmas presents I made:

Phew, sorry for the photo overload! ;) Starting in October was a wise move, I was finished in plenty of time. I'm looking forward to next years Christmas crafting already!

November - Finished Projects

It's December already?! We opened our advent calenders this morning!! (Thanks mum :) And yes, we are 20 and 21 years old and we still have advent calenders) I also finished 4 Christmas presents this month! You can see them here, here and here.

I also made progress on my Pendrell dress :) I've started getting the collar together. Then I hit a slight technical hitch, the collar somehow doesn't reach centre back (I did it two pieces). I'm not sure where my calculations were off, but after thinking about it I'm just going to go ahead with it anyway. I don't have enough fabric to cut another, and it's not that big a gap. Plus I have long hair so it won't be that visible ;)

Also, today is the start of the Lincoln Christmas Market!! :D I've been looking forward to it all year, especially as last year it was cancelled due to the snow. And we're putting the Christmas tree up today!

October - Finished Projects

This month has been a month of finishing knitting projects, so I can start on my Christmas presents. The only sewing that went on was falling out with my Pendrell dress! lol The poor thing.

I also finished two Christmas presents! The first is here, I've shared this link before. But the second I only posted today, although I finished it yesterday :) It's here. I'm really pleased with it! 

How did you spend Halloween? We spent it watching Jumanji and eating sweets. Yes, Jumanji is still scary ;)

September - Finished projects

It's October already?! Wow. September went by in a crazy blur, in which I didn't really manage to grab any time to sew much. You might notice my Rosebud socks aren't up there. I'm still knitting away at them, I'm now on the leg of the second sock. I'm going to finish it before starting any Christmas knitting. I'm also planning on working on my Pendrell dress muslin today. We'll see if I can grab the time for me to do that. I actually woke up this morning thinking it was Friday and was kind of dreading my Understanding the Policy Process lecture. Yep, that module is supposed to be my child studies module. They're passing it off as child studies by saying we can use policies to do with children. Humph. I then realised it was Saturday and that I'd already sat through the lecture. Yay! 

It's also Dom's 21st birthday this month!! It's on a Sunday and we're not into clubbing (at all!) so I think the plan is a take away, then maybe going somewhere for a quiet drink. Or getting one of those fancy cheese boards and some wine. Cos we're just that exciting ;) And we like cheese and wine. Nom!

It's also been HOT this week. Seriously, hotter than summer was. I've been so glad for my new clothes, they're so much cooler than jeans are! Even with tights and a light jacket! I'm eager for a new dress to add to my wardrobe so I'm using this as my motivation to get that Pendrell dress muslin done.

August - Finished projects

I actually finished a sewing project this month! I also completed my most complex knitting project yet, the tam/beret. I've almost finished the second matching glove too! 

I want to start the hour of sewing a day again, and to try and actually keep it up this time. My main problem is getting up late. I turn the alarm off and go back to bed, and the alarm doesn't usually wake Dom up so he can't make me get up either. I know, lazy! lol But today we got up at 6 so that we could be ready for the maintenance man to bring us our freezer. It can be here as early as 8, and I'd rather not be in bed when he got here! I like being up this early, but I hate actually getting out of bed. 

So yes, the goal for this month is to get up early and try and keep up the hour a day! :)

July - Finished Projects

Well, this month was a rubbish month for sewing! I didn't finish anything sewing related! Hmm, not being at uni makes me lazy I think. Having no structure to my day really doesn't so me any good. 

This month I'm going to try to do an hour of sewing related activity a day, bank balance permitting of course ;) And then if you're interested, I'll share what I did in my hour or so. I think this will be a good challenge to get my productivity going again :) Would you be interested in regular updates on what I did with my hour?

June - Finished Projects

This month has been a knitting month. I lost my sewing mojo after the exams, so started knitting more. I've definitely improved with my knitting though, I'm getting more confident with following patterns :) I can even follow a chart!

I really need to try and be more productive! I'm usually dressed and have had breakfast by about 9.30am so really have no excuse but laziness for my lack of finished projects this month! So my aim for this month is to try and get more sewing in. Knitting can be for the evenings as I really need some summer dresses. You know, in case we actually have a summer this year. lol

May - Finished Projects

Wow, this month has gone by so fast. I blame my exams. At least they're nearly over, one more to go! So here are my finished projects from last month:

It seems its been a month of little projects, apart from the Crescent skirt. I'll update the photo of it when I have one of me in it :) I think this month should be better, I'll have lots of free time to sew!

April - Finished Projects

I really enjoyed doing this for last month, so decided to so it again :)

Four finished projects again! Becky loved her dress, and said it was really comfortable :) I haven't really had an occasion to wear my black skirt yet,but I've worn it around the apartment and it's pretty comfy. The shawl has been folded up in the bottom of the wardrobe for next winter, I can't wait to wear it! And I'm soooo pleased with the birdie blouse. As my first garment for my top half that actually worked out in the end, I''m really proud of it. I'm going home sometime next week, so I'm going to wear it then so I can show my mum :)

March - finished projects

I thought it would be nice to look back at what I finished in March! I always feel like things take forever to finish, but I managed 4 finished projects in March! This might not sound like much but it's good for me :)
So here they are:

I took the booties home to my mum so she could pass them on, and the recipient loved them! :D And of course, the Sencha blouse also ended up as a gift though not intentionally. I haven't had a chance to test the slip yet as it got cold again pretty much as soon as I made it! As for the knitted cable bag, I've got a lot of use out of it! I use it pretty much every day, as I try and do a bit of knitting every evening.
Looking back, I was very productive! I might do this at the end of every month, as a way of monitoring my projects :) It'll also help me see what I wear/use the most so I can make more!
