I've made good progress on my floral Crescent Skirt, though my red skirt has fallen some what behind. I think it's because once I saw how cute the floral skirt was with the waistband attached, I wanted to get on with it :)
As you can see from the funny way the facing is peeking out, I haven't quite caught up yet. I still have the under-stitching, top-stitching and ditch stitching to do. That's a lot of stitching! lol
Yep, the red skirt is still lonely without its waistband. I'll get caught up soon, I hope. I have my cognitive exam on Thursday morning, my research skills exam on Friday morning, and then the Friday after that is my last exam, investigating the individual. I'm not too worried about the last two, but I'm dreading the cognitive one. Seriously, there is a ridiculous amount we're expected to know! It's funny actually, part of the cognitive module is on memory. So I have to try and remember stuff about how we forget, and how retrieval isn't possible if the information isn't stored properly. Pretty disheartening really *sigh* I just want it to be over, and to pass. Even if I only scrape a pass, just as long as I don't have to do it again! It'll be over soon. I keep thinking about the next Doctor Who episode, because by the time I get to watch it, I'll only have one exam left! :D

How ironic. It does sound really interesting, but I appreciate that that's not the point when you're about to be examined on it!

It is really interesting, and I enjoy it and understand it when I'm reading it but after that? Hmm, evidently my memory is crap. lol
ReplyDeleteI just seem to be more aware of each day as it passes. So it's going really slowly, but at the same time is creeping up on me. But yes, just keep swimming, just keep swimming. . .its not the end of the world if I fail after all.
I find it does, because I (was) doing a step at a time on each skirt. And it speeds up on the second skirt too because I've already done it once. Though the red waistband is slower because of the lace.

Thanks :) I have no idea. My course is psychology with child studies, which is the general area that I'm interested in, but I don't have any more specific ideas than that :S
ReplyDeleteMy independent study next year will be on the theory of the mind, so I should hopefully get to work with kids during that, and might get a better idea of what I want to do.I hope. lol

Ooooh how lovely! I see what you mean about our fabrics being similar. I am not quite at this stage with my skirt sadly as I had a busy weekend, but I can't wait to finish! I live the black lace trim on the red waistband too, gorgeous! Good luck with your exams :) x
ReplyDeleteGood luck in your exams! I feel your pain on two levels. Firstly because I have accounting exams this month, and secondly because I studied psychology too. Are you at masters stage then? One of my old uni friends is studying to be an Educational Psychologist. It seems really interesting but is a lot of work.

ReplyDeleteI'm an under-graduate, but hope to get a masters, just not sure what in :S lol It is a lot of work, though admittedly it wouldn't be so bad if I'd started revision earlier. I just keep telling myself I've done more than last year so shouldn't do too bad right? lol
