Christmas Baking

That right there is Stollen. I'm using a Delia Smith recipe from her 'Baking' collection. You can find it online here. That dough took very little effort on my part and came together so easily! It didn't stick to me or the kitchen counter and smells amazing. And my hands smell like lemon zest from kneading it :)
I've got about 2 hours before it finishes rising, so I suppose I should go and wash all the dirty dishes I always manage to amass when I bake ;)
Baked Stollen photos to follow! :)
Are you doing any Christmas baking? Or any other holiday baking for that matter?

  1. mmmmmm I love stollen! I might even have a glance at that recipe! My mum makes it every year at Christmas and (unlike the Christmas cake) it's something I'm usually allowed to start before Christmas Day!! The smell of stollen is so yummy! Enjoy yours when it's out of the oven!

  2. I've never tried it before, but I thought I'd give it a go! I've just taken it out of the oven and it does smell amazing.
Haha, my mum makes mince pies for my little sisters to put out for Santa, they love it!
The recipe seems like a good one, hopefully it will taste as good as it smells!

  3. I made some salt dough but tbh, baking is the last thing on my mind with a newborn in the house. I've never tried Stollen. Is it good?
